A large percentage of Ashes of Creation's game systems are expected to be in place for Alpha-2.

• The Alpha-2 map will be approximately 220 km² in size.

  Alpha-2 is going to be probably about half of the world space available as part of the testing. I would say just over 220 square kilometers of world for players to explore, which is a pretty comprehensive portion of the game. – Steven Sharif

• Node progression to City ( ﺡﺮﺴﻤﻟﺍ 5) and potentially Metropolis ( ﺡﺮﺴﻤﻟﺍ 6).
• Actual sieges in the real sense.
• Tulnar race.
• Naval content.
  • Naval warfare.
  • Three ship classes.
  • Ships will have functioning cannons but the ship building UI may not be complete.
• نييفرحلا فانصأ will be fully implemented.
• Auction houses.
• All archetypes will be available.
  • Some secondary classes and augments.
• Combat changes (from Alpha-1).
  • Active and passive skills will be re-architected.
  • Primary skills are expected to be very different to those in Alpha-1.
  • Weapon skill trees will be present to augment the combo system.

• Family summon mechanic.
• Emblem, logo and symbol editor (tentatively).

Alpha-2 is intending to be obviously a very large chunk of the game's mechanics: a very very big percentage of it. – Steven Sharif

UI, tutorial systems, and much of the questing will remain placeholder for Alpha One, and won't really come online until Alpha Two. – Steven Sharif

Alpha-1 and Alpha-2 testers may be invited to participate in spot testing prior to the Alpha-2 release.

Alpha-2 is known as the persistent alpha.
